Andorra Overview
Andorra is a small country in south-western Europe, located in the eastern Pyrenees mountains and bordered by Spain and France. It's official name is the Principality of Andorra, also called the Principality of the Valleys of Andorra. With its area of 468 square kilometres (181 sq miles), Andorra is the sixth smallest nation in Europe. Andorra's capital is Andorra la Vella, which is the highest capital city in Europe with its location 1023 metres above sea level. The official language in Principality of Andorra is Catalan, although commonly spoken are also Spanish, French and Portuguese. Andorra was formed in 1278 the monarch role of monarch in the Principality is shared between the France's President and the Bishop of Urgell in Spain. |
