Armenia Overview
Armenia is a former republic of the Soviet Union and a unitary, democratic nation-state with an ancient history and significant cultural heritage. Armenia is a mountainous landlocked country in the Caucasus region and its official name is the Republic of Armenia. Armenia's neighbouring countries are Georgia to the north, the independent Nagorni-Karabakh Republic to the east, Azerbaijan to the east and south and Iran to the south. The capital of the country is the city of Yerevan. |
