Belgium Overview
Belgium is a constitutional monarchy located in north-west Europe. It is a founding member of the European Union and its headquarters are located there. Belgium also hosts other major international organizations like NATO. The area of Belgium is about 30K square kilometres (11.5K square miles) and its official name is the Kingdom of Belgium. Two main linguistic groups are represent in the country - the French-speakers and the Dutch-speakers. Capital and largest city of Belgium is Brussels; other major cities include Bruges, Liege, Antwerp and Ghent. |
