Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country lying on the Balkan Peninsula in South-East Europe. It has a small coast line of 26 kilometres (16 miles) on the Adriatic Sea and borders on land the countries of Serbia to the east, Montenegro to the south-east and Croatia to the north, west and south. The total area of the country is about 51K square kilometres (19.7 square miles), which is mainly mountainous in the south and the central parts. A capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina is Sarajevo; other major cities are Banja Luka and Tuzla, as well as the capital of the Herzegovina state - Mostar.
