Estonia Overview

The Republic of Estonia is a relatively small country in Northern Europe that joined the EU in 2004 and has qualified to adopt the euro from start-2011. It borders the Gulf of Finland to the north, Latvia to the south, the Baltic Sea to the west and Russia to the east. Estonia is a parliamentary republic. Its capital city is Tallinn, while the second largest city is Tartu. Estonians are a Finnic people and their language is closely related to the Finnish language.
