Serbia Overview
Serbia is a landlocked country situated at the crossroads of Central and Southeastern Europe. It covers the central part of the Balkans and the southern lowlands of the Carpathian basin. Serbia is bordered by Romania and Bulgaria to the east;
Republic of Macedonia to the south; Hungary to the north; and Croatia, Bosnia and
Herzegovina and Montenegro to the west. Its official name is the Republic of Serbia. Serbia's capital and its largest city is Belgrade, which is one the most populous settlements in Southeastern Europe. The other major Serbian cities include Nis, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Leskovac. |
